Annette Heinen

Core Tutor

Annette Heinen (1956) graduated (cum laude) from the Academie Industriele Vormgeving Eindhoven in 1980. She has worked as a fabric and pattern designer for fashion/interior at the Product Studio in Amsterdam from 1987-2002.
Before that, she worked from 1981 to 1987 as a designer for the department store chain V&D.
Keywords in her work are concept, colour and communication. Every finished product is the result of an intensive interaction between the customer and the designer. As well as creating a conceptual starting point, she supervised the product process right up to the time it reaches the consumer. As freelance designer she worked on projects for Ideens, Auping b.v., Forbo- Krommenie, Ten Cate Housetex Products, VNU, HEMA and Bijenkorf.
Annette is since 1984 lecturer in concept, colour and material/fabric development in the discipline of Fashion Design at the BA and MAHKU. Since 2005 she coaches interdisciplinary projects on the HKU and KMT. In 2009 she lectured second and fourth year students at the AMFI and started as coretutor of the pathway fashion at MAHKU.
